Okay, we will be talking in generalities, but there are always exceptions. Guys are often taught to suppress certain feelings, and those lessons can be taught directly or indirectly. Communication is Key
More than anything else, you need to learn how to communicate with each other. Again, this can be difficult because men and women tend to be raised so differently, but it is vital to getting along. Once you are able to talk to each other effectively, then you will start to get an idea of the things that your girlfriend would like you to do to show her affection. If you feel the two of you are already good at talking to one another, then you can simply ask her what you can do to show you care.
Treat Her How She Wants to be Treated
Even though most women are good at expressing their feelings, not all of them like to be shown affection in the same way. This means that you need to figure out what your girlfriend will respond to in the best way. For example, some women are content to hear terms of endearment on a regular basis. To them, just being told that you care is enough to keep them satisfied. On the other hand, some women respond to touch, while others prefer to have physical reminders (such as gifts) of your affection.
Get it Right!
Here’s the really tricky part – you have to get it right! Don’t try giving your girlfriend jewelry to show that you care if she prefers touch. You could actually end up offending her, because she may feel as though you are trying to buy her affection. So, while you’re trying to do your best, you could end up making things worse.
Take the Time
The question of how to be affectionate with your girlfriend isn’t always the easiest one to answer. If you care for the special woman in your life, then take some time to find out what she needs in the way of affection. You can consider it a worthwhile investment in a happy and content future for both of you.
