For example, a child might be caught in the act of masturbation, and so the parent uses words like ‘dirty little bastard.’ Or ‘dirty little sod’, or ‘dirty little cunt’, or ‘dirty little whore (or slut).’ Or the parent may say things like, ‘Get away from me you little trollop – you disgust me.’

Words and phrases such as these cause shame to the child, and they then feel loathe of themselves. In later years this shame manifests as promiscuous behaviour, or in worst case scenarios, young adults who commence work in the sex industry. Many sex workers were sexually abused as children, either overtly, covertly, or both. This is almost always how they end up in the sex industry.
