What is fear? Fear is an unpleasant emotion that is caused by a threat, danger or harm and it is also said that fear to be afraid of something or someone. Fear also causes people to react in many different ways whether it’s good or bad. Fear takes away our ability to try new things and it can lead us down a very distasteful and dark path. To be afraid is like seeing the water right in front of your face: you know you are thirsty but because of the fear inside, you are too afraid to drink. What do you think will happen to you if you don’t drink the water? Without water we cannot live because water is life and if you don’t drink then you are going to die. In our lives fear must be pushed aside to accept the change that may very well transform our life and make life a little more interesting.

Have you ever been so scared and fearful of trying something new that you always wanted to do but you have never really gone for it because of that thought of failing? Many people are like that, for example let’s say when you were young and growing up there must have been something that you always wanted to be, like a fireman or a fashion designer? But as you grow older your thoughts and dreams drifted and drifted until it was no longer your main focus. What happened is that your fears brought you down and made you afraid to try, therefore you never made it happen and nobody will get to appreciate your efforts when you would have succeeded. Those thoughts again can make someone change their very way of thinking and their once hoped-for dreams will go down the drain, and in the back of their minds they will always ask “what if?”

Untamed fear is why many people have not succeeded in doing what they truly wanted to do, because fear is such a powerful feeling that it can render you powerless. Encouragement can go a long way but if you do not have a good support system how can you move from that uncomfortable space of thinking that no one cares? Many people have permitted fear to stop them from doing the things that can move them forward to achieve their goals. But that is what you should be looking to do – achieve your goals. As the saying goes, “try and try again until you succeed” however many people don’t realise that they have to try again and have forgotten those wise words. Because saying a few words as such can be a big help in making anything possible and worth trying. This can help you to become more confident and you will slowly start to believe that you are able to do anything.

What you fail to understand sometimes is that things take time to work out, but if you are really interested and want it to work, let’s take for example you always wanted to become a pilot. You can take the necessary training that they require you to do; you can do the exam and if you fail the exam one time don’t worry just get back on the horse again same like the saying try and try again. Because when you really want something enough you will apply yourself and persevere and an outcome that you want will happen. Failure is not an option for those who really want to be successful in life and finally becomes a champion at something that they were always afraid of trying.

So now let’s look at how we can achieve these goals. The first step is seek out all possible outcomes that you can think of. And what this means is that many people of afraid of the unforeseen or the unknown that influence their lives. But once you are capable of pushing that emotion aside you can finally see the lights ahead that have been there all along. And after you remove that obstacle you are finally open to the ideas that will help you to make a right decision. Next you should learn to be move positive instead of listening to that tiny voice inside your head that is telling you everything that is negative and why you should not do it. Yes it is going to be hard to let go of that voice but if you want to become better then it is something that must be done. What some people do is look at the worst of things and resign themselves to not trying because they fear that it will be a disaster. But the truth of the matter is how will you know that if you don’t try?  Sure, it won’t be easy, and yes you might have a worse case scenario, but that should not overpower the desire to say I won’t. Instead, push your fear aside and say to yourself, “Yes, I will try it.”

Like this case for example, where a woman had driving lessons many times, yet she had never really driven on her own. This was due to the fact that something went wrong in an early encounter on the road when she was first learning, yet she hadn’t actually made a mistake. In the back of her mind she is thinking I wonder if I will crash, will police stop me but that never stopped her from getting where she wanted to go. So you see, although life is all about challenges and you go through them every single day for the rest of your lives, that’s what makes you stronger. That should never be the reason why fear should ever control your life because you can learn that even though you can fall, you can also fly. So basically let the feeling of hope and faith rest in your heart instead of the negatives that attempt to pierce your soul. Those fears should never win and you shouldn’t let them.
